Bowling Green, Southern Utah Set to Meet for Palms Division Title

Daeqwon Plowden tied a career-high with 26 points, and a substantial second-half run keyed Bowling Green to an 82-68 victory over Milwaukee in Palms Division action at the Rocket Mortgage Fort Myers Tip-Off on Tuesday.

The Falcons big man shot a season-best 8-for-12 (75%) from the field and racked up seven rebounds. Kaden Metheny tallied nine points and three assists in his return to action after missing the previous three games with an injury.

Bowling Green was firing on all cylinders offensively and defensively to start the second half, going on a commanding 19-2 run to go up 56-41 with 10:31 to play. The deficit proved to be too much for Milwaukee to overcome, despite a season-best 11 three-pointers made in the contest.

Deandre Gholston led the way for the Panthers with 19 points and four rebounds. In total, 10 different players registered points for Milwaukee, including nine apiece by Jordan Lathon and Donovan Newby, and eight points each for Pat Baldwin, Jr. and Vin Baker, Jr.

Bowling Green led by as many as eight in a neck-and-neck first half ending in a 37-36 Falcon lead. Plowden had 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting in the half for the Falcons, while Gholston kept the Panthers close with 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting.

Bowling Green will take on Southern Utah in the Palms Division championship game of the Rocket Mortgage Fort Myers Tip-Off on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. ET.
