Game 3
Bowling Green controlled the game from the opening tip and never let go, powering to an 81-48 win over VMI thanks to overwhelming rebounding, balanced scoring and a sharp shooting performance from the perimeter. The Falcons built a 25-point halftime cushion and led by as many as 37 in the second half, finishing with a decisive 51-29 edge on the glass and holding VMI to just 20 percent shooting from the field .
Mayar Wol led all scorers with 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting, including five threes, while Sam Towns anchored the interior with a massive 18-rebound effort to go with 12 points. Josiah Shackelford added 12 points and Troy Glover II chipped in 11. Bowling Green’s bench provided 42 points and the Falcons hit 10 threes, shooting nearly 47 percent after halftime. VMI’s offense never found rhythm, finishing 3-of-28 from deep despite 25 points at the free throw line. Linus Holmstrom (11 points) and TJ Johnson (9) were the top scorers for the Keydets in the loss.
Game 4
Buffalo held off a late Bucknell surge to earn a 73-71 win behind a buzzer-beater layup from Daniel Frietag. The Bulls leaned on Angelo Brizzi’s 25-point performance and a blistering first half from beyond the arc. The Bulls built a 13-point halftime lead behind 9-for-18 three-point shooting, then survived a strong Bucknell push as the Bison shot 52 percent after the break to make it a one-possession game in the final minutes .
Freitag added 18 points and nine rebounds for Buffalo, while Noah Batchelor hit three threes and finished with 11. Brizzi was perfect at the line, going 10-for-10 as the Bulls closed out the win despite Bucknell’s 39-28 second-half advantage. Brandon McCreesh paced the Bison with 20 points and six threes, and Amon Dorries added 13, but Bucknell’s rally came up short after Buffalo’s clutch free-throw shooting in the closing stretch.
